Yesterday, I had the opportunity to buy back the exact Bronica SQ-B that I had sold off about 5 years ago. At that time, I had decided that I wouldn't ever shoot MF film anymore; lugging an MF camera around is seldom practical, and digital is good enough for all practical purposes..
But somehow I got lured back to those big negs.. It started a couple of months ago when I bought a Holga on a whim and got prints back. Even with that coke-bottle-bottom lens, the advantages of film-real estate are obvious. So when the SQ-B came on my path again, and I saw it had been very well taken care of, I didn't hesitate a second.
It's really weird to hold the exact same camera again; with all the nicks and dents exectly where they were last time I held it 5 years ago, it feels so intensely familiar. At this moment, I can't even begin to understand the brain-fart that made me sell it. Really glad I've got it back 🙂
It's now loaded up with pro400h and ready to go..
