My R3A was broken, and then sent off for repairs which totaled in 4 months of SLR use. I've taken some of my favorite pictures thus far during this period on Canon FD gear and a K1000, but I forgot how much I absolutely loved using a rangefinder. I put a roll through my FED 4 earlier to test a Jupiter 9 I got for a steal ($100) but that camera is more of a curiosity to me than anything, although it was once my main camera. Compared to my New F-1, the R3A is like a toy, in the best way. It's just so much fun to shoot with, and I really like the meter. I'm really excited to get back to using such a fun camera. Having just bought the CV 40 1.4, I do have to say that the 40mm framelines are a bit hard to get used to though, I will admit.

Wear glasses? That could be hard.

If you keep both eyes open, however, it can be really really cool with that 1:1 viewfinder.

Still, I think the R3* is meant for the 50 and 75. With the single frameline on 75, it is really heaven.

Lucky you!

I have the 40, a few 50s and an 85. I don't wear glasses. Keeping both eyes open really helps! Thanks for the tip.
