backpack for camera & laptop

Depending on the size of yoiur laptop and how much gear you plan to carry, here are a couple of options that have worked for me:

Option 1

Thinktank Urban Disguise 35 (vertical) and the Thinktank backpack straps.

Option 2

A Pacsafe Ventuesafe 25L and a couple of Domke 2-compartment inserts.

gary,

yeah, i think you could fit the x-e1 + xf27 in that pocket. on another forum (http://www.seriouscompacts.com/f98/27f2-8-pancake-maybe-permanent-fixture-my-xe1-20660/) someone posted their x-e1 + xf27 next to their x100 (+ rrs grip), and it definitely looks smaller depth-wise. actually, i'm sure it will fit -- i've even stuffed my x100s in their with the LiM hood facing forward. the front of the bag bellows out anyway.

i haven't bothered gluing two rear caps together for my x-system, yet. i've done it with my nex system, but using jb weld. i just need to find some better quality third-party caps.

Thanks for update
Gary

Thank you for the pictures. It looks really good. I only hope it is a backpack. :)
sorry, i know i got carried away on those other type of bags (haha). i do have a backpack that can fit a camera system + 15" laptop. i think it may be too big for a compact system though. i'll look it over, tomorrow.

I really love the National Geographic bags. I have the walkabout rucksack and it's the perfect size, carries a laptop, camera gear and looks cool.

Highly recommended:

I was also checking this bag, it looks cool and really good size for my need. But I read somewhere NG bags are not comfortable. :bang:
Have you compared this bag to other brand bags? What do you think about the comfortableness of this bag?

Good question. I think it's comfortable but haven't really done a comparison with other bags. The real comparison is walking for hours on end with a bag loaded to the brim. With it fully loaded, I am comfortable for about 3 hours without pause. After that its a minor rubbing on the lower back. But then I can't imagine other bags could be much better. It's just not going to be comfortable to carry a bunch of **** for hours on end no matter which bag you have.
