bad day all round

Joe, no snarky comments from me. I know the feeling of the "pile on", and I'm particularly regretful that the Z-I has to go back. But with a bit of luck, it'll be turned
over to some well-trained techs who will hand-adjust the rangefinder, and you may
wind up with the most diligently QC'd Z-I out there.

I am a long way from being a f****** Pollyanna, so these are not empty platitudes from some grinning fool. They're from a frowning fool...

Remember Marty Feldman in "Young Frankenstein": "Could be worse...could be raining".

i love it all!

i do wish the camera was easy to adjust - like my p is - but i hate to mess with brand new!!

i'll play with it tomorrow and then get hold of tony to see what to do.
what i really hate is that thr rf is out in the first place and if it is a common thing then all those leica guys are gonna start yelling, 'see, we told ya!!'

wait a minute...i'm gonna be a leica guy again soon.

i feel a bout of schitzophrenia comin' on...

no you dont!...
yes, i do.

damn!

Chris, sorry, man I wasn't directing that "snarky' bit at you or anyone in particular.
I just wanted Joe to know I'd be going easy this time. Sometimes I get a little agitated, especially when I get flamed for something I never said.

Smiles all 'round--'cept me; don't like to smile 'cause it hurts my cheeks...

no worries...i have become acutely aware of the limitations of the printed word for conveying intended meaning through the years.

I smile all the time, except when I'm in the gym or teaching grade 8's...then I look like a bitter convict. 😀

I wish you pain free smiling-on-the-inside kind of smiles.

Reading your comments, I can't help but think of the comic strip "Zits". If you're not fanmiliar with it, you would - I'm certain - find it pertinent to your own situation.

As the song goes Joe:
"Some days you kick; some days you get kicked"

Or as I like to say:
"Some days you're the spider; some days the fly"

It evens out in the end my friend - don't fret 🙂

I feel your Pain.

The S3-2000 came in. <snip> And everyone will be pleased to hear that I will not be shooting with it Nude.

Darn. I have to call my bookie now.

Hang in there, Joe. Remember: you still have three Canon Ps. Next time, it'll be a Leica and none of this misalignment stuff 😀

I shall post my rant here, too. Apparently my money order hasn't gotten to KEH yet...I sent it Priority on Monday. So now I'm worried that it isn't going to get there and I'm going to have actually, for the first time, do the whole lost mail thing. Sucks.

No reason to send a MO via Priority. Priority is for small packages that you want to get there in 2-3 days! It's much quicker than the Parcel Post alternative for packages.

First class mail is the way to send letters (i.e. MOs). Same time as Priority - much less postage!

i tried it again today but focussing on a point waaaaay off in the distance and it's off.
Sorry to hear that.
BTW ... how far off is waaay off?
My Bessa R is off at infinity, but dead on at closer focus (I've checked from a metre to about 15 metres). I suppose I should send it back for adjustment, but I've figured that once you're in the infinity range it's not really going to matter that much.

... At the same time, it can also be used for things you might need to track, like lost MOs. However, that 2-3 day often turns into 4-6, so don't fret yet. Could turn up on it's own. Good luck Stephanie.

joe ~ that's bad news man... sorry. But hey, good for you. Go on out and shoot a roll with it anyway. Taking bad pictures with a new camera is better than staring at it on the shelf. It's a rule at my house. When a camera arrives, I open the box, unpack it, load it with film and shoot the roll, no matter what. The next week, when the lens arrives... I shoot another roll. 🙄 (Often, the roll WITH the lens turns out better...)

this is a whine, plain & simple.
i realize my bad day is nothing compared to the real worlds's problems, but sugar is tired of listening to me.

work sucks but yes, i do still have a job, so i can live with it.

the zeiss has to go back to popflash cause the rf is way out at infinity.
i tried it again today but focussing on a point waaaaay off in the distance and it's off.
sure i have a few other cameras i can use but this was a new toy...

the m3 did not show today. i didn't really think it would but a guy can hope.
same with the 50/1.2

ok, that's it!
please don't leave me nasty posts about how spoiled rotten i am.
i am already aware of that and it did not stop me from posting this.

joe😉

And it has to go through customs again? Isn't there a dealer or warranty service center in Canada you can send it to?

R.J.

well, actually i'm down to 2 p's as i traded one for that m3.

waaaay off was a distant smoke stack. close focus seems to ok, maybe a hair off.
and yes, customs again but coming from tony, they only held it for 7 hours and not the customary 7 days.

OK BIG NEWS!!
got a p.m. from tony at popflash and he is going to check out another camera and send it.
i will of course be sending mine to him.
now that's service!!
proves he reads the forum as i had not contacted him yet.
gotta love that kind of committment!

Oh, you need to use the lens too? Maybe that's why I've been having so many blurry pictures! 😕
