Wow!! Thank you for the notice. Didn’t expect this. What a great gentleman and repairman.
I sent a gorgeous Kodak Retina Reflex III with an f/1.9 Schneider-Kreuznach Retina-Xenon lens to him for a CLA a few years back. It was an antique store find for $35 that I felt needed some deserving attention to extend its life. The camera and lens returned working beautifully.
Hats off to Chris. Enjoy your retirement sir.

I'm sure he'll be taking a lot of pictures with his cameras.
His website is a real resource. Followed it to replace the Rack on my IIC. Not an easy job.

Wishing many happy photos for Chris.
He serviced my grandfather's Kodak Signet 35 a few years ago, the last camera he bought new, and it's still working like a charm.

As for the repair of your Retina, I suggest you try contacting Paul Barden. He may be contacted at this address bardenphotographics@gmail.com
Paul is a very competent Kodak Retina repair specialist. He is based in Oregon, in the United States. I expect this will make the challenges of shipping easier for many of you too, compared to sending cameras all the way to New Zealand.
Regards, Chris Sherlock

Good to know we have an "anointed successor" to Chris! I don't think I've had Chris work on any of my cameras but his reputation is, truly, worldwide. All the best to him.

Yes, Chris has been the God of Retina for a while now - I first contacted him in 2006 (and finished the camera in.. er... 2022), and he's rebuilt one for me and offered advice on two more. I hope he has many years of enjoying his Retinas ahead of him.

My congratulations to Chris on finally making the decision to retire. He very well deserves it.

Some interesting comments here from Paul Barden and his repair queue is not too long (currently) if you are thinking of repairing a Retina - (and an interesting comment on what version perhaps *not* to repair).
