bag for two RF bodies lenses attached

I've had a few Domke bags and they were all ok, but in terms of build quality, ergonomics and being water repellent, nowhere near the Bare Bones Bag. For only a very slight increase in cost, you get a much higher quality bag with the BBB. Man, the way I am going on and on, I ought to be on the figitalrevolution payroll 😉

I second Domke inserts. The illustration below is for one camera & lenses (disregard laptop case - I don't carry a computer any more, just a Blackberry.) For two cameras, I would have two of the single inserts instead of one single and one divided. Leicas fit in easily with up to 50mm f2 mounted. I also sometimes use the A&A Rina bag, one per camera, two total. Bag is a Patagonia bag that isn't made any longer, but there are similar bags around. "Spins" around your body to allow for access without removing the bag from your back or pulling it over your head onto one shoulder. Works for me.

The Domke 5XB was my first thought, and the 803, which I also have, is also worth considering. But, here's my number one recommendation:

Get a vest with a couple of generous sized pockets. No, not a "photo-vest." Those are too obvious. For the purpose of being discreet and unobtrusive, I use a Royal Robbins vest. Two large pockets that will each hold an M6 with lens, plus two breast pockets. Especially in cooler weather when people wear more clothes, it is ideal. I recently shot for a month that way in France. It is very liberating not to have to carry any bag at all, yet have adequate gear with you.

We'll you're definitely getting me interested. Do you have the BB or the BB2? Can you post any pics of what you stash into it, cameras, film, etc?

I have gone from a Domke 803, to a Naneu Pro Lima (which I'm overall pretty happy with), to now wondering about the BB2.

Hi Amos,

You have a cool name! To answer you: I have the original BBB and I can comfortably fit two MPs with lenses attached. I will put some extra batteries and film into a pocket. I keep my cell phone, wallet and keys in the big back pocket. I stick a B+W filter wallet between the inner pockets. This leaves me with two of the inner pockets empty. I will use one of them for dumping used film cassettes. The other I use for nothing or for carrying a 3rd lens. I am sorry but I don't have a digital for a quick snap to show you. I think I might look at the larger BBB for a trip so I can carry a book, etc.. Yet in just a day of street shooting I can't recall ever taking more than 3 lenses.
