A Gl690 with 65mm ,100mm and 180mm lenses. Over the shoulder bag, no backpacks and nothing rigid, might be a tall order, but , I sure could use some help here. I can't drive all over h*ll and back on the hope the bag may be large enough. Google searches aren't all that helpful .

Filson Camera Field Bag. I still have mine though I don't use it as much. But I did use it with my GL690 and the 65 and 100 lens when I owned that setup briefly.

Looks to be discontinued though--Look at ebay. I found mine there for about $200.

Not particularly cheap, but I'll see what's out there, maybe even craigs list . Just had no
idea where to start with this setup. Thanks, thanks for a suggestion based on similar needs. Peter

I feel your (back) pain. Two solid choices (and you'll have to grab these used) are:

- Crumpler December Quarter. Big contoured messenger bag with massively strong and tall (basically they run from bottom to top, no Crumpler "false bottoms" here) velcro dividers. Lenses go vertically in the left and right partitions. Camera drops nose-down into the middle of the three compartments formed by the partitions.

- Tenba Response Large. This is a hugely useful bags that can take two GL bodies with lenses mounted as well as one or two extra lenses, and you don't have to disturb the rest of the contents to get anything you want out. Lots of pockets. You will run out of muscle before you run out of space.

what are the dimensions of the lenses? it'd all fit in a billingham 335 with several superflex partitions (probably 9-15).

The lenses have 72mm threads and are up to 8" tall. You need about 100mm diameter to grab them without losing the rear caps in the process. They are also heavy as hell.

The 335 does not really have a shoulder strap designed to distribute the kind of weight that this camera posts (a full set is about 10lbs), and the GL is actually something of a killer unless you can cross-body it. It's not really less heavy than a DSLR with three 2.8 lenses.

The OP's prejudice against backpacks aside, the Tamrac Zuma 7 backpack ($40 at B&H right now) is a perfect fit for the GL690 and two extra lenses (and yes, the side access door can accommodate the height of the camera body. I use this when I'm biking with a GL. Way easier to keep your balance.

I'm using a Timbuk2 messenger, Large I think. Fits my G690BL with the 100 and has room for a couple more items. I bet you could put your lenses there, just use separators. And a laptop :) It also doesn't look like a camera bag. Very high quality. Rain or dust.

Depends on how he wears it. I carry an RZ-67 with a couple of magazines, Gossen Lunasix F, and 13" MacBook Pro, in a 445. On one shoulder it's a killer; with the strap slung across the chest like a messenger bag it's perfectly comfortable for an extended carry.
