For those of us with significant others at home and there being so many responsibilities taking up so much of our time here's a question. How do you manage to get it your shooting, camera buying, printing in the darkroom, etc? Is there a way to balance it all?

pesphoto,
I’ve been thinking exactly the same thing recently. So I've been taking my camera to work with me. I'm an Engineer / site manager / supervisor for a construction contractor building a new rugby stand. It’s a bit awkward sometimes, but because I'm sort of the boss I can take personnel photos and pass it all off as record photos of the site. Great, but the photos are emm, shall we say have a "select" audience!

I'm with Frank S on the darkroom work though.

I do my shooting on weekends and during lunchtime, or mornings before work. And take a camera anywhere I go. I dont have a darkroom, I just bring my prints to a local store. I also scan some things and spend some evenings by the computer.

Wasn't it the movie Vanished in which the protagonist pretended to be in the military reserves in order to pursue his obsession? He'd put on the uniform, drive to a rented space, hang up the uniform and conduct the business of tracking down the guy who kidnapped his girlfriend and buried her alive. It could work!
