just got a Baldix in great shape. Only has 1 problem - the interlock seems to work only occasionally. The wind knob will come up about 1/8" & when pushed back down, there is no stop & you can wind thru a whole roll & shutter will not cock. Any ideas/suggestions or it this a shelf queen? Thanks.
 
I'd start by popping the top and doing a cleaning of the parts. More than likely the lube is now a solid and seriusly affecting operations. This is usually involves a simple cleaning. If it feels/sounds daunting - then send it out for a CLA.
 
First as someone above said the shutter does not cock with film advance. The lever at the right side, looking at it from the front, of the shutter speed dial cocks the shutter.

There is an interlock preventing the shutter from being released until the film is wound on. That is part of the mechanism under the top cover.

The wind mechanism on these seems to be pretty reliable, IF they are not all gummed up with dried grease, and no one has tinkered with them. My Hapo (same camera, different name) had both problems when I got it and it took a bit of head scratching to sort it out.
 
I think the OP was infering to multiple camera problems - not that he was expecting the shutter to cock from advancing the film.

While a simple cleaning of the interlock mechanism will probably retify that problem, the shutter sounds like it will also need a CLA. It could be something as simple as just needing a flush with naptha to something internally broken or binding. I would try the naptha flush first - lenses removed of course and see if that alleviates the cocking problem. If not - then you need a shutter guy.
 
Ah, yes, the old flush the shutter with lighter fluid trick. Evey bit as good as pouring oatmeal into a leaky radiator to make it hold water until the buyer gets it home. The sad part is that there are, so called, camera repairmen who do just that. Pretty much like the mechanic who did a total brake job on my ex-wife's VW for $600, and never removed the brake drums (he had faded into the night by the time I went looking for him).

Now, I myself used to use Ronsonal to clean shutters, after I had totally dismantled them.
 
I made some images during the dissections of a couple of Baldixes. Probably they could help in establishing the problem with the Double Exposure Prevention.
