Baldessa film advance

I can cock the shutter on my Baldessa 1 using the Key on the bottom plate. The sprocket for film advance rotates but slips when a film is inserted s o that the film will not wind on. Any suggestions for a remedy

I had a similar problem with both a Balda Baldix and a Voigtländer Perkeo II. A trip to the camera technician solved it on both cameras.

At the very least it will need a cleaning - the rewind uncoupling pusher may be stuck. If you take it apart for that you'll notice whether the spring pushing it back is broken or lost its power - if so, replace it.

I have a previous unanswered thread about how to remove the baseplate.
Perhaps you can advise me on that point.

I never handled a Baldessa, but from working on a Jubilette, I suppose that you will have to remove the leather to take it apart.
