Bangkok and Burma

These are wonderful photos guys. I adore Bangkok just a little more every time I visit (or see photos like this) and I'm desperate to go back to Myanmar. It's so interesting to see Bagan with some greenery on the ground. When I was there last May it hit at least 46ºC everyday for six days in a row and looked (and felt) more like Africa. I've still got a copy of the Myanmar Times with the heading on the front page "Yangon suffers through 40 days of 100-degree pain". I have to go back in October sometime...

It wasn't 46ºC while we were there, but it was still hot and dusty. I wouldn't want to be there at 46ºC!

I don't want to say the heat ruined it, because the heat in it's own right was one heck of an experience. Luckily we "splashed out" ($25/night) on a nice resort with a pool and (semi-reliable) air con which made it more bearable, but the pool was almost spa-like by 3-4pm! Unfortunately we didn't see as much as we would have liked to because of the heat, but it's just another reason to go back.
