Barnack Canon Shutter Speed Dial Question

Hi All,

I really like my Leica IIf RD 1/1000, except for having to lift up the shutter dial to change speeds.

Tell me, is this also the case with the shutter speed dials on the later Barnack Canons like the IVSB2?

Yes.

Mind you this escapement is by design so you do not change speeds before the shutter is cocked, otherwise you throw timings off.

Honestly, if you want speed you are not going to find it in a Barnack.
