The widest framelines are for 28mm. But I can use it with a 24mm if need be. It just takes a little judgement to estimate the additional coverage. With a 21 or wider, it's time to use an accessory finder.
For me the widest view I could get using the .58x finder was 28mm (and at 28 I could not see outside the framelines). That being said, my results might not be typical ...for what it is worth I have a caveman forehead (at least that is what my wife tells me 🙄) so I can't get as close to the eyepiece as most. I have heard from others (ie. people with a more modern head design) that the outer viewfinder borders are close to the view of a 24mm lens.
So in summary:
*People with sleek modern forehead brows and no glasses...about 24mm
*People who resemble neanderthals or have glasses...28mm
*Cavemen who wear primitive coke bottle eyeglasses...35mm (purely speculation on my part)
That's too bad (I too, wear glasses, thick ones). With the 0.72VF, I can use a 35mm. I thought that with a 0.58 VF, 24mm would be feasible, easily. I don't like the idea of having to use an external VF.
