Dear Board,
I picked up a 35 Electro GS via an on-line auction site. It was advertised as being DOA because the battery check light did not work.
I got the camera today and it was in fact DOA but some work with a wire brush and some baking soda and vinegar got the battery check light to work with the existing Duracell PX32 that was loaded in the camera.
There was minimal crud in the battery compartment, but the raised end of the battery had a ring of oxidation around it. I brushed that off and scuffed up the positive end and everything seems to be working fine.
I know the present battery will die so to that end I bought an adapter and battery from the Yashica Guy on-line.
Is anyone else using that adapter and if so how does it work? What kind of battery life do you get with the replacement 6V batteries?
Regards,
