battery adaptors on ebay

I have not seen these before. I had one that seemed to be made fron a .410 shotgun shell. It's easy enough to make your own but for the price of those you're looking at, I'd just get them.

I think I have one of these around somewhere. It is made from vinyl tubing, a plastic spacer, and some aluminum binding screws that are used to bind loose sheets of paper together...Roger

I hope I'm not infringing on anybody's ebay business, but I'm just curious, anyone have an idea what the silver/metal thing used on bottom of the adaptor to connect battery to the contacts is?

Yeah, the price isn't bad, but of course there are much cheaper DIY alternatives. It's just that this is one of the prettier adaptors I've seen (I like the idea to use the see-through tubing). Someone else occasionally sells the same-looking adaptor individually ($4 for adaptor, $1 for shipping) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=140134567254&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=004.

Roger, thanks a bunch for explaining what it's made of...I hope it will benefit others who'd rather make their own adaptors.:)
