battery check for QL17GIII

I bought a QL17 GIII a while back. It came with an alkaline 625 battery which lit up the battery test light when I pressed the button. I sent the camera in to a repair person to have the lens and VF cleaned. When I got it back today, the battery test light was not working. I'm wondering, was there something the repair guy could have accidentally touched when he was working that somehow disconnected the battery test or something?
