Battery query

Hello,

I just bought a G-III QL17, from the ever wretched eBay. It came with a battery but the check light didn't work nor did the automatic exposure so I assumed it was flat and ordered another battery - that turned up today and same story - nothing doing.

Am I not getting it? This is all new to me. Or is it not working? If the latter than can anyone recommend me someone to take it to to have a look in London?

Thanks for any help. Hoping to get this sorted as it's going to be a birthday present.

Thanks for that but I have two batteries already - I need someone to have a look at the camera and fix this cable problem, if that is what it is.
