Bayamo, Cuba

Hello everyone,

I am a college music teacher in Trois-Rivières, Canada who just came back from a musical trip in Cuba with my students. We went to Bayamo for 10 days to learn cuban music and meet the local musicians. The people from our partner in Cuba, ICAP (Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos), organized everything in the trip for us - they were really nice, generous and helpful. We all came back home with our heads full of the beautiful music and experiences we lived in the trip!

(For those interested, photos were taken with a Rolleiflex 3.5F. B&W film is HP5+ developed in Xtol (1+1) and color film is either Provia 100F or Provia 400X.)

I love the photo of the students too and will make a wet print of it soon. They were so happy to be there with us, talk and sing for us...what a great moment.

At the Camilo Cienfuegos School for Arts :

Members of our group with the Quinteto Rebelde. They fought besides Che Guevara during the 1959 Revolution. They played music for the rebels before and even during battles!
