The sun rises today on a world without BB King....
Here is my shot of the great, late BB King. Made at Wolf Trap Farm Park, Vienna, Virginia in 1996. Shot with an M4 and an 8-element 35mm Summicron. I am fortunate to have seen him play once. He will be missed.
The band I was involved with decades ago opened for him on a number of occasions and played his New York and Memphis clubs regularly. He always had a kind word for all and would take time to speak with every aspiring young musician who came up to him.
Almost all of the greats are gone now. BB was among the greatest. He will be missed but he will live on through his music. RIP BB.
I saw him in Portland, Oregon a bunch of years ago and will never forget the experience of seeing him in person. He was truly one of the greatest. Rest in peace.
I was lucky to finally see him live a few years back:
Not my best shots I admit. They kind of restricted the groupie section off to stage right and policed cameras somewhat. They at least tolerated me shooting with the little Olympus Stylus.
