BBC: High society hairdresser's secret life as street photographer
"By day Victor Friedman was a high society hairdresser tending to Manhattan's moneyed matrons. But away from the salon patronised by the likes of Jackie Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe, Victor spent his time in New York City's more down-at-heel locales pursuing his passion for photography."
What a great story! I notices that most of the pictures they were showing were older ones. Seeing good photography like that makes me want to go out and shoot more. But truthfully, I have 1/100 the vision he has.
The video is still on bbc.com, as the OP has listed.
This man sounds young from inside. Must be the photography, which he mentioned as food for his soul.
Interesting guy. There are probably a ton of hidden gem photographers out there just like Victor. In San Francisco there are two that I see regularly - Maurice Edelstein & Vlad Panasenko.
