I just had my M10 listed on ebay for a week long auction, when it ended I received two emails, one appearing to be from ebay and one from paypal, saying that the buyer had just paid and that I should ship the item. When I looked closer the domain was not from ebay or paypal and on ebay I had no indication that they paid. I was very close to shipping the item, had I not double checked I would have. I'm sure most people are careful, but an extra warning to double check before sending off any cameras!

How did they get your email or know who you were behind the alias?

I included my email in the ebay invoice.. which I now realize was a dumb mistake. I should have realized it was a scam when they asked for that, but I was in a rush at work and excited that the camera sold. I feel bad for anyone that has fallen for this.

Yeah, I forwarded the scam emails to them and reported the user.

Any time I get an email that for one reason or another perks my senses up I go to the domain name to see what that says. It's amazing the attempts to look official that some of these clods use.

Sellers have little. if any, protection on eBay. I no longer sell on eBay except using "Buy it now" at inflated prices and then refusing to sell to buyer who do no not reply to emails.
