This may have an obvious answer but I've never even heard the question asked before. That is until I posted a thread in the Classified forum. I'm looking to trade my M7 .72 for an M7 .58 and another member suggested maybe contacting Leica NJ to see if they could change the magnification of the viewfinder. Is this possible?? Anyone ever hear of it being done? Would appreciate a little education...
My guess is, for a price anything is possible. I am sure Leica in Japan can do the same thing. You know of course that Leica offers upgrades to the new MP finder for any camera from the M6 forward. So my guess is that they can offer a different magnification finder too.

Hi Rover,
Yeah - I know they offer upgrades for the MP finder. That makes sense. Just never heard of changing the mag. of the viewfinder. Guess I'll just give 'em a call and check later tomorrow. Would probably cost an arm (at least) if it's possible...

I don't know if they can change the magnification. I bet their solution will be to change the entire finder.
