I have recently restored a Beirette Electronic, through DIY cleaning and re-skinning, and it became a cute little camera.

all that the user have to adjust are subject's distance, sky conditions (f), film sensitivity... and click it!!!

after developing the first roll of film it appears that there is no-one that not smiles in front of this toy looking camera.

It seems a great performer in daylight

If you run into a Beirette Electronic, do not hesitate adding it to your camera fleet... ;-)

The Beirette range were sold in the UK through the national "Boots the Chemist" chain and acquired an unfair reputation as being cheap and cheerful. As you show, they're not at all bad little cameras.

Actually I did not do any mechanical work though the restoration... I have just stripped the black plastic "leatherette"that it used to have, then unscrew the upper part in order to clean dust from the viewfinder... and after attaching it back to it place, I've glued this mustard color real leather...
I have used the old leatherette as the cut out pattern... and the piece of leather was purchased for free as it is quite small to be sold... from a glove making factory... ;-)
I have one more, but it is not a functioning, however I had hard time to decide which viewfinder to choose. Finally I have chosen one that has a brownie colour... and mirror finish...

I kind of like the saturated colors... I will try some more film and I keep you posted! ;-)

the beirette (=beroquick) electronic is indeed a very nice and in my opinion underrated camera.

although cheap, it is a full grown camera with aperture priority ae, a broad range of apertures and exposure times (1/500 - 4s), a common filter size (49mm),bulb mode,... and although with a lot of plastic, it seems to be very reliable.

its meritar lens (a cooke triplet) works very nice with colour film.

the only negative thing, i can mention, is its viewfinder. made of cheap plastic, the vf of mine is already very yellowish and dull.
 
dont know, if it had originally also some yellowish color. but mine has these yellow of really old, once glare, plastic. very dull too.

i also have a beirette vsn, which has quite some parts common with the electronic. and its viewfinder is (at the moment) more blueish and clear.

sorry, i muddled up the bulb-mode and the self timer. the beirette electronic has no self-timer.
 
Nice recovering, VP. The camera looks a lot like the Yashica Electro 35 MC, the only scale focus Electro ever made.
