I got this in my inbox today from my local camera store (it is a big camera store chain here in Au), I had to laugh..
I might be wrong but I read it as: "no one shoots film any more but there are still lot of undeveloped rolls out there, bring them in"
35mm Film Processing - Save 20%
Yes it can still be done! Believe it or not, there are thousands of rolls of film still out there. **** offer a safe and fast service available from all stores

My local Costco store here in the greater NYC area does a lot of processing on the C-41 chain. Granted, most of the stuff is from wedding point and shoot table cameras however there are still a lot of others including myself shooting color film here. Vũng Tàu, well that's another story.

My wedding in 2005 was shot all on film. Part of our package was to keep all the negatives. Friends of ours who married year later had theirs shot by professional photographer on Nikon D70.
I'd rather have negatives than 6mp D70 files.

WOW ! Are you serious man ? You mean he or she, a professional photographer, actually gave you the negatives from your wedding as part of "the package" contract ??? If so, I guess things are quite different here.

Yes, I am serious. It was a quite professional business. Our package included negatives and 6x4 proofs, there were around 500-600 photos all together. No album or other fancy stuff. Two photographers. I couldn't be happier.

I wouldn't go with this guy. If he buys a used camera just to start photographing on film for this wedding, chances are he doesn't have experience with it and is likely to mess it up. I'd rather go with a guy who has been photographing film all the time and has his film gear still around.

It also is possible that the guy used to shoot film, jumped on the digital bandwagen, sold all his film gear, and now has to rebuy it all. If I were the photographer, I'd want to thoroughly test all the equipment, and have some backup.
Only thousands?
