Berlin - leica repairs

Hi there!

I'm in berlin and the shutter release on my leica m7 seems to be stuck. It's probably something minor but i just can't get it to work.

Any suggestions on where i could take it for repair? I guess i could send it direct to leica, but i also guess that would cost a fortune.

I am not sure if Simonsawsunlight is back from Canada, but he and maybe gho both can give you some recommendation for a repairshop in Berlin.

Hi! Unfortunately I can not make a recommendation as I have never used a local repair service, but I heard that Leicas could be repaired at Kamera Service Ostkreuz.

I've had my M5 CLA'd at Kamera Service Ostkreuz, and the CLA and a viewfinder glass replacement were well done and cost 150 EUR together. Highly recommended.

Hello all! In case this is of use to anyone else, I took my M7 in to Kamera-Service-Ostkreuz. They were very friendly and helpful, unfortunately I don't speak german and they didn't speak english, but we managed to convey what the problem was and how long it would take to fix and how much it would cost without too much difficulty (and happily a nice german customer was dropping off her camera at the same time and translated some of the trickier stuff).

The turnaround on the repair was one week and cost me about 210 euro (as it needed to be fully dissasembled). I just picked the camera up then and it works great, feels like they might have given it a bit of an overall CLA while they were at it. So if anyone is in berlin and does need repair or service work done, I can recommend these guys.
