Bessa and Soft Release

Possibly a silly question,

But who uses a soft release with their Bessa?

How does it feel half pressing the shutter to activate meter?

I've had mixed experiences with cameras that wake up with half press of the shutter release and wonder how our members feel about their Bessa.

When I was shooting with Bessas I used the Nikon AR-9. I grew up on AR-1s on my Nikkormats. Nikon softshutter releases are concave rather than convex like Tom A's.

I found I was able to fell the halfway mark better on my T and Ls.

I've used both soft-releases with convex or concave surface on my Bessa-R. I also often use the camera without soft-release.

The good thing about Bessa-R is that the light meter stays on for some seconds after the shutter button is half-pressed, just like a Pentax MX, but you won't feel the mechanical locking feeling. It only need a tap to activate the meter, which is quite light. I've never miss-fired the camera once by tapping the shutter button to get a reading, with or without soft-release. I prefer using the camera with either convex release or just without release (the shutter button surface is convex).
