Bessa II w/ 105 Heliar Lens & Tri-X

Finally posted some photos to flickr w/ the Bessa II. Not sure if I have this figured out, so there may be photos, and then again, not. Depends.

The not-pleased-to-being-photographed guy is my friend Donald, who is having a big classic camera show downtown where I live. Assuming his photo turns up here. He has an 8x10 Deardorff on display that I just love.

The Bessa II camera has a good lens on it.

MF, snappy contrast, great level of detail. Seems like a winner. I always forget that when you move up in format, Tri-X's grain just goes away as a consideration. Don't get me wrong, I really like it in 35mm, but in MF or LF - whoo.

You're right Benjamin. The Tri-X is a different animal in MF. I like 'em both, 35mm and MF. The lens on this thing is better than anything else I have, and what's surprising is that it's sharp from corner to corner. Pretty hard to do on an old folder.

Wonderful camera, Steve, but what I am really lusting after is that guy's Deardorf -- even without having seen it.

Bessa II Color Heliar is beautifully made. Lens is superb. However, I've constently encountered issues with film flatness with the camera.That's really a drawback for an otherwise perfect MF folding camera.
