Bessa L 25mm Snapshot Skopar due tomorrow!

I had the same kit. It took me a bit to sort it out, but in the end I found it to be top notch. I recall spending two days learning to zone-focus and shoot from the hip, from an outstretched arm, etc. Practice is what does it.

Now I've got a 21 on a Bessa R. In a way, it's the same, except the 21 is rangefinder coupled if one chooses to go that route.

The CV 25/4 is a gem!

Straight scan from a shot of a cellular phone transceiver tower on Fuji Pro160C with the CV25 at f4 for 4 seconds..

As others have alluded to, be patient and take time to just photograph "things", not necessarily street scenes. Once you are used to it's little quirks you will likely be quite pleased with the results. I have the same combo of Bessa L and 25/4 which I am selling only because I need to raise a little cash. I will miss the outfit but intend to replace it some day.

Well I fully intend to be out tomorrow lurking and wreaking further havoc on xmas shoppers! I'm not giving up on the combo because the lens is seriously nice, I probably just need to burn some film regaining my technique.

Cheers, Lol

Yeah, takes a bit of getting used to, I've found. I'm currently learning how to use the 21/4 Color Skopar that arrived last Monday.

Talk about quick service! I called in the order Thursday night to Cameraquest, got a notice of shipment Saturday, and the lens arrived Monday. I know, I'm in Arizona and Gandy's in California, but still...

It will but I'm using primarily for hip shots. The angle of view of the lens is so great that I bet you could just sight your eye along the hotshoe without the viewfinder attached and still get close. it's such a lovely sharp lens I might try some "proper" photography with it mounted on a tripod.
Cheers, Lol
