The film advance lever on my Bessa L doesn't always advance the film resulting in multiple exposures. Does anyone know if this is fixable or shall I put buying a 'mint, only 3 films through it' camera off Ebay down to experience? It was bought a while ago and I've only now had a chance to use it so any redress is too late.

Perhaps the previous owner tried to remove or otherwise deactivate the camera's shutter lock device, which (I think) is connected in some manner to the advance lever mechanism. It's possible that the previous owner fiddled with this part, or failed to re-assemble it properly, and then gave up on the camera.

Sometimes that #%^@! shutter lock drives me crazy when I use my Bessa L. Still, it's a fun little camera and worth repairing if you can do so at a reasonable cost.

Good luck.

Thank you both for the suggestion and link, I shall certainly give it a try although I've more or less consigned it to the 'spares' drawer having found a brand new black L on Ebay. This one works!
