Bessa L Lens

I have a CV 28 1.9 on my used Bessa L. Will the 'standard' rangefinder lenses work on this camera. Also, I figure I have enough $$ for 2 more lenses - which two do think would complement what I have. I picked up the Bessa L at a camera show last weekend for a song and a dance and love the feel of it. Should finish my first roll today.

Since the bessa L has no rangefinder I would only use it for shooting wides. The 25/4 and the 15/4 work fabulious on this camera. So since you have to scale focus, anything narrower than 35mm would be a guestiment. Now they do have handheld rangefinders that you can use to dial in your distance. I have one I got real cheap on ebay. I guess you could find one & use that to get your distance settings.

I use an Industar 61 LD 55 mm on my L all the time and scale focus with no problems using a 50mm viewfinder. I also use a 50mm and a 25 mm Skopar.
I haven't misfocused yet, but then I haven't taken close ups.

Treat yourself to the 15/4.5 for starters, and then either the 21 or 25mm. All are fine lenses.

FWIW, I own the L and use the CV 15/25/35 lenses with it. Unlike Kurt, I haven't been bold enough to try my 50mm lens yet! 🙂

I use the 15, 21 and 25 on my Bessa-L, but with the lack of rangefinder I don't think I'd go much longer than that.

If you didn't already have a 28, I'd suggest the 25 is probably the best all-round wide lens for the L. But as you do have a 28, I'd probably recommend the 21 as the next one to get - it's wide enough to be challenging and fun, but not too wide to hardly ever use. (The 15 is fantastic occasional fun, but I don't often use mine).

i use the 15, 28, 35 and even occasionally the 85mm on my bessa-L. the lens i use the most is the 50mm. i use a kmz turret for framing. this body is great for keeping me mentally tuned in and thinking about the shots and exposure. i don't even have batteries in mine anymore...

i do have an old voigtlander external rangefinder that i occasionally use to judge distance, but i've been scale focusing ever since i was a kid.
