I am enjoying shooting a new-to-me Bessa L with CV 21mm/4 (wonderful, tiny lens), but have one frustrating thing I'd like some help with: At least on my Bessa L, the metering function shuts off instantly when pressure on the shutter button is released. In other words, there is ZERO meter-on time after releasing the button. Now this isn't a problem if metering using shutter priority (right hand partially presses the meter shutter release, left hand turns the aperture ring until the green light comes on). However I like to use aperture priority metering 95% of the time, and keeping the meter on with one finger while turning the shutter speed dial with two others on the same hand while not blocking the view of the lens is damned near impossible. What are others using for a work-around to this? Or, is there something wrong with my camera's metering circuit that isn't allowing a delay before auto shut-off? None of this is mentioned in the somewhat skimpy Voigtlander Manual.
Update: Since posting this, noodling around various sources I find this is the way the meter is designed to work. Hard to believe Cosina's engineers, who have shown such cleverness in most of their efforts, blew this one big time. A delay can't have been all that hard to build in, since the same guys built the Voigtlander VC II meter, which holds it's readings for eight seconds before switching itself off. Now I'm wondering if there's a delay built into the R3's and R4's. Lack of a delay would certainly be a deal killer for me.
