I'm with Doug... I've missed shots with the L because of the lock.
...on the other hand, I burned out batteries by using a 'wrap'
(too tight a one, obviously) on my R before dropping it in my
insulated picnic bag (my "camera" bags).
I think either one is a matter of getting used to the camera.
See how you feel after the first 20 or so rolls are processed.
