I have not been checking in for a fair while as I have been practising photography a bit more than talking about it

Anyhow, my Bessa-R seems to be getting a bit bothersome. Mechanically (including electrically) it is working well, but the body coverings, especially on the back, are getting a bit clammy. From what I can figure out, the rubber covering on the back was moulded over the back moulding, and is also a compound curve, making replacement practically impossible.

I would like to hear from other owners to learn how they deal with this.

I deal with the"clammy" feeling with a zhou 1/2 case . Looks OK at 65 bucks US. but I guess it's the only option.

I've often thought of seeing what sort of transplants I could do using a Ricoh KR5 Super II (which is based off the same body the Bessa R was based on) and it looks as though the film door is exactly the same shape as the R's. I've already used the baseplate from it on my bessa and it works fine, so I wonder if the switch could be made. It would be nice to have a normal film door on the back without the molded grip.
