Hey Guys, just got back from my trip to Newfoundland and developed the film... all seems well with my acquisition, however the rangefinder, as usual for these is out of vertical alignment.
Before I left I did as much research as I could and adjusted the rangefinder vertical alignment at infinity, without touching the horizontal alignment. As soon as I put the top cover back on it went back to the way it was.
Decided to use it as is for my trip, and had a great time with it, however I think I should bite the bullet and get it sent out. Does anyone know of a VC service centre in Canada? It would cost me as much as the CLA to ship and insure to the states with the dollar as it is.
Thanks again guys,

My Bessa R has a similar problem, slight vertical mis-alignment. Seems to be a common thing with the Bessa bodies.
From what I understand the only service outlet is the Voigtlander / Bessa factory service center in Japan. I have not heard of anyone else servicing these cameras in N. America.
That being said, if you do a quick internet search you'll find info on how to adjust the rangefinder alignment yourself on a Bessa body. It actually isn't that difficult. But you have to have steady hands and a watchmaker's patience to do it properly. I tried to do it on an older Bessa body that I have and ended up screwing it up.

I believe the CameraQuest will service the Bessa R from my previous research.
I actually have previous experience with camera repair as well as experience with watch repair lol, and was quite successful with adjusting the vertical alignment. It just didn't seem to stay adjusted after putting the camera back together.
Maybe I will try again when I get home from the office.

I would give gerry smith a call at Kinderman. I'm not sure he does CV bodies or not but Im sure he would tell you that.
Otherwise you could go to toronto camera service. I took my RD1 there for some rangefinder alignment and they did a great job, just took about 3-4 weeks.

Well, looks like I may have solved the issue. turns out whoever adjusted the RF last left the locking screw super loose, as with the Bessa R the locking screw only effects the horizontal adjustment I stayed away from it last time I was in there.
Got it all buttoned up and everything seems a-ok.
