😕 This the first form I have ever joined, so if I am not in synch with tthe protocols, just let me know.

Just rec'd my Bessa-R w/35mm f2.5 Skopar from Photo Village. Has anyone had any problems with the range of the meter? My meter does not want to respond if the EV is anything less than 3. In the manual on the page about apeture priority the EV range is quoted as EV 1 to 19, but on the shutter priority page it's quoted as EV 4 to 19. Does this make sense?

This is a common Bessa question, so you might find a more detailed explanation by searching this site. Basically, you're running into a mechanical limit in the meter, on the combination of shutter speed and film speed.

Oh, and welcome to RFF! That package of the R with 35 Skopar is an unbeatable deal, and hopefully you'll find it helps you make some nice pics... which we look forward to seeing in the gallery here! 🙂

DOug and all --

After my post I did a thorough search and there it was -- all about meter limitations and uncoupling the slower speeds as the ISO's increas.

Thanks. Looking forward to posting some pics.
