Has anybody ever used that combination?
The price is a bit tempting, but not tempting enough to throw my money into the void.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Well at least the yare offertd that way on the bay. Semms to be something like the Tamron way of several adapters for different bayonets for one lens.
Well with 16 mm there shouldn't be much to go wrong with focussing still I am interested with the practical experience

I've been considering this idea and from what I've been able to find, I think that if you can find the right adapters it should be do-able.
The Zenitar is apparently a native M-42 mount(Pentax screw mount). So you need to get from that to an LTM mount. The easiest way might be: M-442 to Canon FD then a Canon FD to LTM adapter. I have not found a direct M42 lens to LTM body adapter but that doesn't mean there aren't any.
Depending on how cheaply one can find the adapters, one may be getting pretty close to the cost of a CV 15mm lens.
Focus will not be coupled to the RF but scale focus should work fine on a lens this wide.

With just a quick search for "Zenitar" on ebay, I found several M-42 to LTM adapters and some Zenitars with adapters as part of the package. I hadn't looked in a few months before today and was happy to find that I was incorrect about "the easiest way".
And the prices seem to be about half of the CV 15.
My 21 has started to seem a little narrow lately...

Certainly not the same, but my first foray into wide angle (and the thing that forced me to buy both a Bessa L / 15mm combination and a Brooks Veriwide) was a Russian 20mm lens in Pentax K mount, which fits my slr system.
The lens is rectilinear and performs reasonably well, but is low contrast and rather soft in the corners anywhere near wide open.
It seems like you'd be just as well off to mount the 16mm on an slr. It was designed to work on one, so an adapter will make your RF just as big as an slr. Plus you wouldn't have to buy a viewfinder.
As a side note, the Russian made M42-PK adapter ring I bought won't work on Pentax cameras; if you need one, just pay for a real one.

I had found an Orion which was a bit costly for me at the moment...and stumbled upon the Zenitar. A lens that will also fit on my M 39 SLR's and later on I could buy a Nikon adapter. As teh orion is not rangefindercoupled I don't loose that much.An M42 to LTM adapter would also be nice thing as I would like to try my Praktica 29mm on my Bessa. Could any one send me a link via PM?

Bryce,
I'd not thought about a VF for this...I may well end up with the CV 15--I'm not such a fan of very wide lenses on SLR. I suppose I could try to find one of the Konica 17mm single use cameras and cannibalize the VF from that.
Spyder67, I sent you a PM.
Rob
