Bessa R + Jupiter 8 Pictures

I received a J-8 from Kuvvy and had this thread in mind. I shot this at F2 at about 3-4 feet. I did nothing but use gentle unsharp mask on picture. This is what happens to hair after putting up with me for 48 years. 🙂 Kodak EB 100 slide.

HELLO,
i ve seen your pictures, it seems your focus is not correct. the best J8 is as far as I know, of year 85. For the portrait, try to focus the eye, when wide open without deepth of field. unless it is the scan. But I think you should check the coupling lens RF.

Hi,

I just received my Bessa R with a jupiter 8 on it.

Haven't taken any photos yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

One thing that felt kind of weird is that the aperture ring is continuous, I mean, I couldn't feel any considerable resistance to move from one f-stop to another. In my 35mm slr, you can feel a "click" when you reach a full stop.

Is it normal?

Yes, that's the way it is.

As Frank said, yes that is normal for the LTM Jupiter-8. And, I think, an advantage with the Bessa R--very easy to set "in between" F stops.
