Bessa R, Kiev 4am?

The Fuji Frontier is a digital mini-lab printing system held in very high regard. You can find a lot of discussions about it on photo.net. Since it's digital, it scans each neg/slide and prints from the scan. It can also print direct from digital images, obviously. When you get your images processed, you are also given the option of getting scans saved to CD.

Yes, the T-90 is a bit of a masterpiece. I like mine a great deal even though it's pretty new to me. My uncle, a professional photographer, actually gave me two of them in non-working condition (one had actually been stepped on by a horse). A brilliant photo tech got one in working condition for only $75. I also have an F-1N that I love dearly too.

After I saw your previous post mentioning the Frontier I learned a little about them and found a processing lab (Chrome) here in San Diego and not very far from where I live. I will have to give it a try

The Bessa arrived

The Bessa arrived

It's here and the ebay desription was true- never used. Unpacked the camera and put my own nose grease on it immediately. I am sure that in very short time I will give it a patina.

The viewfinder is very large and bright bigger than that of any of my recent SLRs and any of my other rangefinders.

I have the Industar 61 on it and about to load some film for tomorrow.

Nice camera and the 61 actually looks nice on it (it looked horrible on all the russian cameras that featured it). As for view finders Im going to stick to squinty russian ones until I can afford a Bessa of my own.

The Industar 61 is a 55mm lens and the max aperture is 2.8I have some filters on order for it Skylight and (would you believe) a polarizing filter. I like the way a polarizer can help saturate color.

Ah- Old town... There is a huge agave there. It may be raining Saturday. Fingers are crossed for good light. Also have job hunting to do. All I want to do is take the Bessa out and shoot.

To say nothing of all the people wandering about. And, with a 2.8, who cares if the light isn't so good. I shot some stuff in a coffee shop last week with a 21/4 Super Angulon on a trashed Leica M2 and they came out fine. Of course I had my elbows braced on the chair arms (1/4 second).

True about the people. Another nice area for shooting is down in the Gas Lamp. Also Balboa Park.
