If you are in Toronto you can get them from Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) for $1 CDN.

I think it will also use the LR44. Both are available in the battery section of my local drug store.

Works fine with LR44's. Change 'em once a year to make sure they're fresh. I buy them 5 for $1 at Dollarama.

These batteries are arguably the most common batteries for cameras. You can get them everywhere in the world, thank goodness. I needed one when I was in Delhi some years ago. I found them in one of the typical Indian small stores for next to nothing.

May I have another question about Bessa-R?
I just purchase a Russian Lens Jupiter-12 35mm/f4. But the rear lens is too large to fit the Bessa-R body. Did someone ever try this before? Either modified the lens or did something for that? Thanks for your reply.

Roger, no, you can't use that lens with the 'R'.

Most of the Jupiter 12 lenses are too large to fit, and if they do, they will block the metering cell. You could try buying a cheap Russian body to mount it. It is a nice lens.

Kully, Thanks for your prompt reply. Actully, I also bought a J-8 50/f2 this time.
I think that I will sale the J-12 and find a VC 35mm lens. Thanks for your helpful information!
Have a good day.

Roger, the CV35/2.5 is a very good lens and will work perfectly on your Bessa R.
