I had wanted sometime back to send my M2 to Youxin but at the time he was in China for several weeks and in preparation for the time my M2 was down I decided to get the Bessa R2A, just the body. It arrived from CQ and shortly after Youxin had returned so off to Canton, Mass went the M2. Unexpectedly he returned my camera in a total time of about 7 days! I had decided to use the Bessa exclusively even after the M2 returned which I have done for about 4 months and I must say I completely enjoy it, it's a wonderful 35 mm RF and so easy to use. I put the Zeiss Biogon 35/f2 or 50/2 Planar and I get pretty nice stuff with either lens. I had originally planned to sell it once the M2 returned but since then I've decided to use the two cameras and alternate them. Excuse the long winded post, my way of exalting the great little Bessa R2A. to where it belongs. Thanks for reading. 🙂

I agree 100% w/ your assessment. It really is a wonderful camera. The only negatives are a somewhat rougher film advance than a Leica, a louder shutter, and those really oddly placed strap lugs. If the manufacturer had addressed those issues, the R2a would give Leica a run for their money. Fine camera indeed.
