Bessa R2A and Nokton 40/1.4 in gallery!

The children don't look too much like mom do they?

There is a lot to like about that lens. If I were to nit pick I guess it seems that the bokeh gets a little rough when the background it textured, like with grass or trees. It is sharp as can be though and has a nice smooth quality.

Like a lot of us, I think this lens is attractive in many respects, and so your results are of great interest. And such beautiful results, too! Thanks for sharing.

thanks, guys, for taking a look at the gallery and commenting.

Yes very nice. I think those pictures make that 40mm Nokton look good. But your beautiful girls look better! :) Such composure in front of the lens - they are obviously very experienced models. I also have two girls and they are now both at college. I miss them terribly - seeing pictures of young sisters on this site (Pablo in Chile [mutu] also has two beautiful young daughters) makes me miss mine even more, especially on a day like today.

Natalia, nice pictures and as Peter states you have a pair of very pretty young ladies, I'm glad to see that now you can photograph them with the new Bessa, and that fast lense.

Peter your daughters are going to make you granpa sooner or later and your joy will be multiplied with the joy of children. They are alway going to be your little girls, that is the way I use to think (now).

Pablo

Peter, Pablo, thanks for the kind words. I am sure there are a lot of worthy subjects to photograph (my photo subjects vary, too), but I think our children (and grandchildren) are by far the most rewarding ones!

Very sharp. I like the "MTF" jackets for lens testing. Nikki outgrew her MTF dress that I bought for her. The Bokeh reminds me of the Nikkor 5cm F1.4; can be a little harsh when used wide-open and close-up. Does not stop me from using them a lot. They probably went all out on this lens for sharpness when used at full-aperture.

Hmmm . . . I haven't seen enough samples yet, Brian, but I think that if Cosina were going all out on sharpness wide open, they would have come up with a more expensive lens, using aspherics as they did on the 50 & 35 Noktons and the 35 & 28 Ultrons. Nor do I think that they would have marketed a version with single coating for that "retro" look. I've seen comparisons of pictures taken with this lens & the 40 Summicron-C, and the Summicron seemed sharper to me. Of course, the Nokton is sharper at f/1.4. ;) They would also not have limited themselves to such a compact size. None of this is a knock on the Nokton. (Pardon the pun. :D ) I've seen some very nice pix with this lens - Natalia's not the least among them. In fact, I like the lens very much & am considering getting one.

Scott, I had the $$$ for the body. I was trying to raise money for a lens. The Nokton 40/1.4 that I used to shoot was lended to me. I still have my OM-4;)
