The vertical alignment of my R2A's rangefinder is off. I don't remember dropping/knocking/bashing it, but it's happened & it needs adjusting. I don't feel confident doing it myself (I've realigned rangefinders on FED/Zorki but they only cost me £20) so am looking for somebody in the UK that I can send it to for servicing.

Any recommendations?

I believe Robert White can actually sort that out. I bought an RD1S from them many years ago, and they sorted the vertical alignment for me with no problem.

Alternatively, if you're in London, Aperture have a resident repair guy, and you could probably arrange to swing past and have it sorted on the spot. I doubt it would take more than 5 minutes.

Thanks for the recommendations so far, I'll contact them both.

I'm going to London at the end of October but I don't think I can put up with it until then. The last time I was in Aperture I had lost the diopter eyepiece from the Bessa & the guys pointed me towards Grays in Westminster after I told them that it was actually a Nikon part. They do a lovely prawn toasted sandwich too :)

I was actually in Cambridge last weekend & could've easily popped over to London if I'd known the camera was poorly, but I left it at home for that trip!

I have just sent it to Camserve. I was quoted £48.00 if it's just the vertical alignment that needs recalibrating, or £78.00 if it's actually that the prism has come detached & needs re-cementing (which will be confirmed when he gets it). Plus £12.00 return shipping.

Total charge to my account was £60. Service wasn't especially speedy, they had the camera for a week before the even investigated the fault, but the fault has been fixed.
