Ive had the camera for about 5 months and the shutter release button always seemed like it required more than the normal amount of force to fire. I end up pressing it so hard sometimes that it becomes difficult to shoot in low light. Just recently I was ready to take a shot and the shutter wouldn't release at all. I went home later and found that the camera would only fire after i pressed the shutter release button incredibly hard with my thumb. This happens intermittently. Is this a problem for anyone else? I think some sort of dirt may be stuck under the button.

Also I have a canon ae-1 (not a rangefinder question, sorry) that is jammed. The film advance winds about a quarter of the way then stops, the shutter release button does nothing, the button on the bottom of the camera to rewind the film is stuck in, and the mirror is stuck in the up position. I removed the base plate and was able to pop out the film rewind button (but it still sticks when i press it down again) and was able to move some things that pushed some magnet to bring the mirror back down. But the shutter still wont fire and i still cant advance.

Can anyone please address either issue.

Thanks
