Folks
I have just joined this forum after searching the web for a solution to a problem I have with my Bessa R3A. Looks like this might be the place to ask.
I noticed that all my pictures taken with my 90 mm lens and at close focus seemed to be coming out with the focus 2 or 3 inches infront of where I had intended. Last night I checked the focus with a piece of greaseproof paper (baking parchment) taped to the film rail. Indeed I found the image overlap in the rangefinder patch was out by a few inches when the image on the paper was in focus. The infinity focus seems OK however.
I have asked a couple of places in the UK about having the camera checked but it looks like it would have to be sent back to Japan for repair. I'm worried that the shipping might knock the alignment out again and in any case it could be months before the camera is returned.
Can anyone advise on a do it yourself adjustment of the rangefinder at close focus on a R3A.
Thanks in advance.
