Well, I took the Bessa R3a on a trip recently. When we left in the morning for snowmobiling along the Canadian border, it was -27F. It warmed up a little during the day, but it was basically -20F or less for the entire trip. I had the trusty R3a in the backpack. It wasn't really protected, or wrapped in anything to help keep it warm. Just stuffed in the bag and subjected to 40-50mph winds.
This was its third trip out in cold temps (-20F, -27F, 20F)
When I took it out for photos, it worked flawlessly. I shot a roll of 35mm and it never missed a beat. Just though those considering trips in cold climates can use the positive experience to help in their planning.
