Bessa R3a close focusing issue

So my rangefinder was off vertically by a tiny bit and I tried to fix it and didn't work until 2 nights ago when I focused to infinity on the moon. I messed around with the first screw and then with the other 2 to fix it and it worked. The ghost image lines up perfectly on anything, but a new issue arised. Whenever I try to focus on anything that isn't past 1.2 meters on my 40mm summicron C, the rangefinder doesn't move. At all. I tried using a jujpiter 8 to see if it was just the summicron, but its the camera. I might have faulty lesens or something.I don't know if I should focus to infinity again and mess with the first screw again or what, but it's a bit frustrating that the camera is useless at 1.2 meters. Might not be a lot, but it kind is an issue to me. any help is appreciated.

First off, the first two screws have nothing to do with vertical alignment, so you shouldn't have touched them at all.

Secondly, the close focus adjustment is meant to be done by via another screw only accessible by removing the top plate. However, you likely just turned the first screw too far which messes with the close focus.
You can probably get it back to how it was before with some careful readjustment, but you'll need to check accuracy up close.

Thirdly, I don't know if you've actually tested your settings with film/ground glass, but since you went and turned all the screws you could be in for a surprise.
