3 degrees might not sound like much but its quite a lot visually. Open up any image editing software and make a horizontal line and then make another rotated by 3 degrees and you'll see a huge difference.
Anyway, as for the R3A issue, all I can think of is that one of the mirrors inside has gone out of wack. It's not really something I would recommend you fix yourself as I have delved into the R3A RF recently and from what I've seen, that peticular problem isn't something you can fix easily. If its still under warranty, you should get it looked at and maybe even replaced.
