Bessa R3M meter activation doubt

Hi,

Can't find this covered on the camera manual...

I've just purchased a R3M and I can only get a meter reading if the camera is cocked (film advanced). Is this the normal behaviour? I find it cumbersome, prone to unintentional exposures and causing pressure on shutter trigger.

Yes, this is how it works.

There's a switch under the base plate that gets closed when you cock the shutter. You could bridge the switch out if you want the meter always on.

Thanks, I’m trying now to use the meter just go check my exposure guess, still not the best as a workflow for me.
