Hi everyone,
Yesterday I looked at a used Bessa R3M with a view to buying it. What a nice camera and what a SUPER viewfinder! My question though is, should the rangefinder/focus patch be bright and clear? I found that I was struggling to focus because the patch had poor contrast and the double image was not easy to match up because it wasn't all that defined... I compared it to my Leica M2 and it wasn't as good. The M2 snaps into focus quickly and easily due to a bright easy to use focus patch. The R3M caused me to really strain to check focus. This was in broad daylight, I think in poor light it would be even worse. Has anyone else found this, is it a common problem on the Voigtlanders? Could it just need a clean? Any advice from Bessa users would be welcomed as I think that its a super camera and I want to get one but the focusing didn't impress me!
Regards to all,
Simon
