Hi

I want to buy a flash for my Bessa, and I need advice. It doesn't have to be a very powerful or sophisticated flash. What I envisage is rather a device that is

1.small
2. low voltage, safe. I don't want my r4a fried by a malfunctioning flash.
3. an easily available model (new or sh)

Any suggestion?

I was going to suggest the cheap and awesome Nikon SB-28, which I use on all of my film cameras. It's not terribly large-- about the size of a canon 430ex?

What about Nikon SB-23? Nikon SB-28, although a nice device, worth considering, looks larger. I don't really need a rotating head, as the flash is going to be handheld most of the time. My reference point is Metz 58 af-1 which is way too large for what I need.

I used to have a Contax G1 camera with TLA200 flash. I said 'goodbye' to camera but keep the flash unit - it is the smallest flash I know.
Mounted on R4A it works only in manual mode.

I use my SB-30 on my R4a when I still had it. Small and versatile, and doesn't get in the way.
